We had been looking for years to either buy a home for remodeling or build from scratch, looking primarily for location and with a particular style of home. We found the location and decided on a custom home builder, but after many months of frustrating negotiations we decided to give up and simply remodel our existing home. However, in a last minute decision we stopped by a Ken McDaniel Open House at the 2007 Spring Tour of Homes and quickly identified a Ken McDaniel floor plan and a lot in Lake Forest that offered what we were after. In addition, Ken modified the basic floor plan to accommodate our specific desires and quickly turned what was a good plan, into a perfect plan for us. We were apprehensive about once again starting the building process but Ken quickly put us at ease, working with us on many custom details that provided personalization of our home that has made living here so wonderful and satisfying. The building process went extremely well. Perfect? No, but Ken went far above and beyond anything we had ever expected of our builder. Often calling to discuss details or meeting with us personally to discuss ideas and progress on the home. We actually completed and took possession of the home in the same amount of time that the custom builder spent just in negotiations! We have thoroughly enjoyed the 2 years we have been in our home and have been very pleased in the quality of work.
